Elitebook 820 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I will like to know if I can change the native display panel on my HP Elitebook 820 G3 with a  Prod ID:  Y3S30UC#BIL from its native display panel of 1366*768 to 1920*1080? Will it be worth it to change the panel as I want more pixels. thank you in advance for your answers.

Changing to touch screen is a completely different issue. That would require replacing the entire screen assembly. The hardware is all different for a touchscreen.

It appears you can. This is the FHD option screen offered by HP:

FHD 821656-001

This is the Service manual:

Manual

It seems the display cable you have for a 1366 x 768 screen is also used on the full HD 1920 x 1080 screen so it should be just a matter of swapping the panels and the motherboard will drive the higher resolution screen. The 12 inch FHD screen is going to be a little bit rare and somewhat more expensive than the average screen.

I found this one for $90 US on eBay:

This is not precisely your model but gives a good general picture of how you would replace the screen:

I am very grateful for your response, thank you.

However, I would like to find out if per your answer I will only need to replace the panel and absolutely nothing else?

I am asking this question because I spoke to a technician at the local HP service center and he said there would be the need to change not just the panel but as well the cable and some other components in order to get the FHD to work, I will like to know specifically what components aside the cable that I would need to change that is if indeed  I will have to change.

Ask the technician who told you this to tell you the exact part numbers of what you need and what these "other components" are. Did he do that? Ask for a quote with a written estimate and parts list.

We all work out of the same Service manual. There is one cable offered for your model series. And both 1366 x 768 and 1920 x 1080 screens are offered. So do the math. The same cable drives either screen. The screens are the same shape and have the same mounting hole pattern. There is one housing and bezel. All you have to replace is the screen. And even if by some small chance I am wrong you will need the screen and can order extra parts if needed to make it work. But I can't see what those parts would be.

You can either come here for help or the Service Center but its a little disingenuous to post a question here and not tell us you already got some advice.

Thank VERY MUCH for your help, I am more than grateful for this and absolutely agree with what you have said.
May I also find out if I'll only have to change the cable if I want a touch screen please? Will I encounter any issue with the bezel?
Thank you in advance for your response.
