I can offer the following:
HP PCs - Touch Screen Stylus Pen Is Inaccurate or Stops Working
The document includes a chart that explains the difference between using a passive stylus and an active stylus.
According to the explanation / description, the passive stylus does not provide the "erase" feature.

Stylus options and the compatible devices (computers) are listed in this document:
HP PCs - Touchscreen Compatibility with Pen and Stylus
At this writing, I do not find your system in the list.
You might consider using a "passive stylus".
Excerpted:
- A passive stylus (also known as capacitive stylus) functions the same as your finger on the screen. Passive styluses do not require batteries, and they work on any touch screen device. While non-HP branded passive stylus are not supported by HP, most will work with HP touchscreen computers and tablets.
