It looked like there were a couple of threads related to this issue, however, I couldn't figure out how to post on those threads. I have an HP 15-db1076nr laptop and I lost the function of the Function+F2 & F3 keys to control the brightness of my laptop about two days ago. I'm not sure why or how. Perhaps an update. Either way I spent all day trying to find a solution and I stumbled across a video of an HP tech walking me through several ways to reset the function keys. The one that worked for me was this. Unplug everything from your laptop. Remove the battery if you have a removable battery. Hold the power button down for 15 seconds. Replace the battery and press the power button. It was that simple. I couldn't believe it. It also reset the warm screen setting to make it easier on my eyes. I hope this helps someone out there so they don't have to spend all day trying to figure this out. Good Luck!
