Hi all,
I have an Elitebook 1030 G3 connected to a display via the HP USB-C Dock G4. This display is an LG32UK550 capable of 4k @ 60Hz but I'm not able to select a refresh rate higher than 30Hz in Display settings. Looking at the G4 dock specs it is capable of supporting a single 4k display @ 60 Hz, as is the monitor itself.
I have tried both the DisplayPort and HDMI cables supplied with the monitor which are capable of 4k, both of which are capable of 4k @ 60Hz. Not sure what else I can try, but 30Hz is barely usable with the amount of lag.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated 🙂
Thanks,
John

The dock clearly says
By definition, 4K video has resolution of 3840 x 2160. Normal rule is refresh rate goes up, resolution will go down. Therefore please set your monitor to display 3840 x 1440 only, you should get 60Hz as shown on the specs of the dock.
Hope this makes sense.
Regards.

Thankyou Banhien, I saw 3840 and (optimistically) assumed it was 4k. For some reason the highest resolution I can achieve at 60Hz is 2560x1440. That's a shame given I have a 4K monitor, but should have read the dock specs more carefully!
Thanks for your help,
John
