I have a Lenovo ThinkVision P40W-20 5K monitor. I'm trying to connect it to a HP Pavilion 15-eh1505sa (6M1S0EA) laptop running Windows 11 Home. The laptop has a Ryzen processor with integrated AMD Radeon Graphics and has a DisplayPort 1.4 port as well as HDMI. Upon plugging it in to the DisplayPort, the monitor is detected as a "Generic Monitor" and resolution is limited to 640x480. I've tried everything I could think of, including using a Custom Resolution Utility to change the Windows registry. Nothing works. The laptop is brand new, fully updated, and all drivers are up to date.
When I connect via HDMI the monitor is detected and everything works, however HDMI 2.0 is limited to 4K resolution so I am not able to use the monitor to its fullest. I've previously connected a HP Spectre x360 16-f1501na with discrete Intel Arc A370M Graphics and Thunderbolt ports, and this works ok to drive 5K resolution on the monitor.
Is there anything I can do to get 5K resolution over DisplayPort 1.4 ?
