Connected Spectre to older external monitor without issue. Connected Dell laptop to the ACER monitor without issus . Spectre sees monitor in settings but cannot not detect. Monitor display says no signal.

@bfsbfs

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Flower_Bud is at your service.

As I understand, you're having issues connecting your notebook to an external monitor,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Have you tried using another cable?

I would suggest you try using another cable to connect the notebook to an external monitor.

Install Windows Update and HP Support Assistant Updates available on your notebook.

  • To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon .
  • Click My devices to see My PC. In this box, there are two options, Updates and Messages
  • Click Updates
  • From the Updates available section, check the boxes for all the updates, then click Download and install.
  • Follow any on-screen instructions.
  • Restart your computer.

Also, update graphics drivers from HP websites: Click here

Keep me posted,

Cheers!

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,
