Hi @krichey55,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To troubleshoot the HDMI connection issue between your HP ENVY X360 Convertible Laptop PC 15 and multiple projectors, follow these steps.
Check Display Settings
- Press Windows + P to open the projection options.
- Select Duplicate or Extend to send the display to the projector.
Update Graphics Drivers
- Open Device Manager by pressing Windows + X and selecting Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click on your graphics driver and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Check HDMI Port and Cables
- Ensure the HDMI port on your laptop is clean and free of dust.
- Use a different HDMI cable that you know works with other devices.
Restart Both Devices
- Turn off both your laptop and the projector.
- Connect the HDMI cable to both devices.
- Turn on the projector first, then your laptop.
Change Projector Input Source
- Ensure the projector is set to the correct HDMI input source.
Test with Another Display Device
- Connect your laptop to a different display device, such as a TV or monitor, using the HDMI port to verify if the issue is with the laptop or the projectors.

Check for Windows Updates
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
Adjust Screen Resolution
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down to Display resolution and try different resolutions to see if the projector detects a signal.
BIOS and Firmware Updates
- Go to the HP Support website and search for your laptop model.
- Download and install any available BIOS or firmware updates.
Power Cycle the Projector
- Unplug the projector from the power source.
- Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Check for Hardware Issues
If none of the above solutions work, there may be a hardware issue with the HDMI port on your laptop.
By following these steps, you should be able to identify and potentially resolve the issue with connecting your HP ENVY X360 Convertible Laptop PC 15 to a projector using the HDMI port.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
