My laptop has 2 graphic processors:
Graphics card (integrated) is Intel Ivy Bridge-MB GT2 - Integrated Graphics with Graphics chipset Intel HD Graphics 4000.
Second graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M [HP] with Graphics chipset NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M.
The notebook has 2 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 3.0 SuperSpeed ports, 1 HDMI port, 1 VGA and no DisplayPort.
Microsoft updated the OS to Windows 10 version 1607 (OS build 14393.82)
NVIDIA says GeForce GT 650M has a max resolution of 3840 x 2160.
I connect the laptop to a 2K external monitor via an HDMI cable.
Questions / problems:
1. Can I get higher resolution than 1920 x 1080 with my notebook on an external monitor via the HDMI port and how?
2. The NVIDIA Control panel menu displays only '3D settings'. Can I see the 'Display' menu as shown on this picture, containing 'Change resolution', 'Setup multiple displays' and how?
3. What is the HDMI version on my port? This is not shown on the notebook's specifications.

Hi,
- No, max is 1920 x 1080 for HDMI port on your machine,
- It uses HDMI 1.4a, still 1920 x 1080 but also supports stereoscopic 3D that mean with the right source and right glasses you can watch 3D movies on it.
The Display Port may give you higher resolution.
Regards.

Hello, Provost,
Thank you for the consideration to reply to my question. Unlike the Technical Service who will probably not bother to reply because they know about the trap into which customers fall.
This computer cost me more than 1000 euros. I paid for a graphics card, whose specifications are 3840 x 2160. The version of the HDMI port is deliberately not stated anywhere by HP. Neither is the maximum possible resolution stated nor that the graphics card is only partially usable, but practically unusable, nor the technical service will tell you the truth.
And the truth is that you cannot use your graphics card, because there is no port to use its capabilities. You can install another port BY YOURSELF: Display port, USB-C, DVI, D-SUB or whatever you like, and connect it to the Graphics card. But you are on your own and HP does not care after ripping you off.
THANK YOU, HP for the scam!

Hi,
I'm talking about the laptop, not monitor.
Regards.

Dear banhien,
I did not understand your point. You said that with my NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M card and "with the right source and right glasses you can watch 3D movies on it." and later you clarified: "I'm talking about the laptop, not monitor".
I don't believe that I can watch stereoscopic 3D movie pr anything 3D on my laptop screen. Please prove me wrong and send me a link to a video which shows how to do it. I don't believe it's possible. All websites I've visited state that you need a 3D monitor, which combines two images into one, which is viewable by the special glasses.
Please show me how I can watch a stereoscopic 3D image (grahics, photo or movie) on my laptop monitor with special glasses.
Best regards.

Hi,
1. You need right source (the movies MUST be 3D),
2. You need the right glasses: yes, some movies only need red and blue glasses but some movies required different pair of glasses.
I'm talking about the laptop and its screen, not external monotor.
Regards.

Thanks for your reply.
1. "You need right source (the movies MUST be 3D)"
- Here are all available 3D formats as of 2016:
- - 3D SBS (side by side) - most popular
- - 3D top / bottom
- - 3D Sequential
- - 3D Blu-ray
Question: Which of the available 3D formats can be watched on " the laptop and its screen, not external monotor."?
2. You need the right glasses: yes, some movies only need red and blue glasses but some movies required different pair of glasses.
- Yes, I have 3D polarized glasses, not red/blue ones.
Question: What kind of glasses do I need to watch these movies?
Best regards.
