PLEASE HELP!  I can only see one of the two new external displays (both ACER Nitro X20's) through my new jCreate JCD543 docking station plugged into my new HP 15-DY2073DX.  I have both displays plugged into the docking station via HDMI.  When I swap which HDMI cable is plugged into which port, that also swaps which external display works (so the problem is not the cables or displays).  The docking station port that isn't "working" is the one that toggles with the Displayport port (I even tried using a Displayport cable instead to see if that worked).  I though that maybe I just got a broken docking station, however when my wife plugged in her HP laptop (different model) the OPPOSITE occurs for her.  Only the monitor plugged into the HDMI/Displayport port displays for her.  Nothing from the other HDMI port.  Any help is appreciated.

All drivers are updated.  I have an Intel Iris Xe graphics card which says it could support up to four displays.

The specs of your machine is

         https://support.hp.com/my-en/document/c07917992

It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

For more connectivity, please use

                         True Universal Docking Stations

Hi Banhein,  Thanks for the quick reply, but I'm not sure this is solving my problem.  Yes, I understand that the USB-C port does not support power delivery.  I am using that port to plug into the docking station and use the normal power cable port for powering my laptop.  The docking station is working fine for everything EXCEPT a 2nd external monitor.  I am however able to plug the 2nd monitor's HDMI cable directly into my laptop and that solution DOES work, however it's really not optimal.  Is there a technical reason the j5Create Triple Display USB-C docking station can't be used for BOTH external monitors?  That's the main reason I bought it.

Does this have anything to do with the fact that my laptop doesn't have a native DP port?  It's the "DP or HDMI option" port on the docking station that isn't detecting anything.

Sorry I don't use and have not tested a j5Create JCD543

okay, well thganks for trying anyway.  Does anyone else have a thought on how I can get both displays to be seen through the docking station?

I had the same problem, but i had resources to test and theorize a little bit and I have an answer that may close your case so strap yourself in:

I have 3 j5create triple display docks. After the 1st one worked on my gaming setup beautifully, I decided to hook up my wife and her brother each with one of their own for their home computer setups. I did run into issues on my wife's dock and her brother's dock as well. So a little background on the setups:

MY GAMING SETUP - I'm using an 2021 HP Spectre on Windows 11 (10th Gen Intel Core i7 and NVidia GeForce GTX 1060i) (tho it also worked on Windows 10 before upgrading it). I have my Beats Studio 3 headphones connected to the AUX jack in (it works beautifully as promised), My Corsair gaming keyboard & Gaming mouse (both work beautifully), my ethernet cable for internet connection, an LG IPX Gaming monitor on the dock's HDMI port and a Samsung G7 4k Gaming Monitor on the DisplayPort. Through the dock, my laptop's NVIDIA graphics card is able to connect and control the Smasung G7 gaming monitor with G-Sync, as the monitor has that feature. Again: The Samsung G7 gaming monitor is on the j5create Dock's Display Port and the Dock itself is connected to my laptop's THUNDERBOLT PORT (or what I assume is USB-TypeC Gen5) No PROBLEMS AT ALL! I'm even able to charge the computer with the dock via power passthrough. the only thing connected to my laptop at all is the j5create dock. The power cable for my setup is the j5 create USB-C laptop charger connected directly to my dock.

My Wife's setup - She has a BENQ color accurate monitor on the DisplayPort and a normal HP monitor on the HDMI port. Razer Gaming keyboard and mouse, Beats Studio 3, ethernet cable, and power cable (the one that comes with the macbook Pro). On her M1 Macbook Pro, everything works just fine. Again, the whole setup is on the dock and the dock is the only thing connected to one of the thunderbolt ports. The laptop setup works fine, no issues. Everything works, including passthrough charging.

Now here is where the problem begins: She purchased a Microsoft Surfacebook 2 with an NVIDIA GTX 1050 and an 8th Gen Intel i7. The Keyboard dock for it provides 2 USB-A ports and a single Type-C port. The Type-C Port is an early generation of type-C (meaning nothing even comparable to the power of the Thunderbolt port). When using the exact same dock and setup (she only likes to switch between her surfacebook and her macbook simply by plugging in the dock from one laptop to the other), the DisplayPort won't work. I've tested different things with this. The DisplayPort's alternate HDMI port works just fine. The only thing that doesn't work is the DisplayPort. Everything else works fine, even the passthrough charging.

The Moral Conclusion: the j5create triple display dock will not work on an older generation Type-C port. It needs a Thunderbolt, Type-C Gen4, or above. Anything else will not send a strong enough signal to the DisplayPort. That means no ColorAccuracy, No NVIDIA G-Sync, No AMD Free-Sync, no adaptive-sync of any kind, no 8k, NOTHING! HDMI only up to 1080p.

Edit: If however you're okay with 2 monitors via HDMI, knock yourself out. it'll work just fine. Both HDMI ports will work just fine without Thunderbolt or earlier generations of Typce-C. The only thing that won't funtion is the DisplayPort.

I was faced with the exact same issue today. I was able to make it work by using the VGA slot and the HDMI slot that was functioning. If you do not have a VGA slot on the monitor, you can probably use a VGA to HDMI adapter to make it work. Best of luck!
