We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like your HP True Vision HD Camera is disabled by a physical switch or a keyboard function key. Here’s how to fix it:

Check for a Physical Camera Switch

  • Some HP laptops have a physical switch or shutter near the webcam. Look for a small slider around the camera area and slide it to open.

Use the Function Key

  • Many HP laptops use F8 or F10 to toggle the webcam.
  • Try pressing F8 or Fn + F8 (or another function key with a camera icon) to enable the camera.

Enable Camera in Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
  2. Ensure that "Camera access" is turned ON.
  3. Scroll down and check if apps have permission to use the camera.

Enable the Camera in Device Manager

  1. Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  3. Right-click HP True Vision HD Camera and select Enable device (if disabled).
  4. If there's an error, right-click the camera and select Uninstall device, then restart your laptop.

Reset Camera App

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  2. Search for Camera, click on it, and select Advanced options.
  3. Click Reset.

Run the Windows Troubleshooter

  1. Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  2. Click Additional troubleshooters.
  3. Select Camera and run the troubleshooter.

Let me know how it goes!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
