Hi @R_451

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining everything so clearly—it’s super helpful to know that your HP laptop was casting just fine until recently, and that other devices on the same Wi-Fi still work.

Let’s walk through a few targeted steps to get your screen casting back on track. 💪

🛠️ Fixes for Windows 11 Cast Not Finding Devices

1. Enable Network Discovery

  • Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced network settings → Advanced sharing settings
  • Turn on Network Discovery and File and Printer Sharing for both private and public networks

2. Update Network & Display Drivers

  • Open Device Manager
  • Expand Network Adapters → Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Update driver
  • Expand Display Adapters → Right-click your graphics card → Update driver

3. Check Windows Firewall Settings

  • Go to Control Panel → Windows Defender Firewall → Allow an app or feature
  • Make sure Cast to Device is allowed for both Private and Public networks

4. Enable Wireless Display Feature

  • Open Settings → Apps → Optional Features
  • Click View Features → Search for Wireless Display
  • If it’s not installed, add it and restart your laptop

5. Restart Key Services

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter
  • Ensure these services are running and set to Automatic:
    • Function Discovery Resource Publication
    • SSDP Discovery
    • UPnP Device Host

6. Use Windows + K Shortcut

  • Press Windows + K to open the casting sidebar
  • Wait a few seconds to see if your TV appears
  • If not, try restarting both your laptop and TV

If you’ve already tried some of these, let me know and I’ll dig deeper. You’re doing everything right—let’s get that screen back on the big display! 😄
