I bought my Chromebook December 19th and since the day I purchased it the touchscreen has never worked properly. It's like the calibration is inaccurate. I can't find any information on how to fix it...

I found my touchscreen would keep sending spurious scroll and touch events, making the device impossible to use. The hardware is "HP Chromebook x360 14-da0000na" https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=5GS70EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB
For me, personally, the touchscreen was a bonus I didn't need. So I was happy to learn I could disable it and use the Chromebook anyway, although I'm disappointed with the reliability of the hardware.
These instructions helped me. They activate 'Debugging Keyboard Shortcuts' in chrome://flags/#ash-debug-shortcuts and then after a restart you can use Search+Shift+T to toggle the Touchscreen on and off (and Search+Shift+P to toggle the touchPad)

It completely disables the Touchscreen, but also prevents the spurious events.
