Just got my new HP Chromebook 15, when i first set it up, everything worked just fine. Now the touchscreen has stopped working. This is my first time with a Chromebook, is there something i did to accidentally turn off the touchscreen or is it broken?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Try resetting the Chromebook to factory settings following the steps recommended below.
- Sign out of your Chromebook.
- Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r.
- Click Restart.
- In the box that appears, click Reset and sign in with your Google Account.
- Note: The account you sign in with after you reset your Chromebook will be the owner account.
- Follow the steps that appear.
- Once you've reset your Chromebook:
- Set up your Chromebook again
- Check if the problem is fixed
Lastly, try performing a recovery on the Chromebook.
Refer to this article from Google to know more information about performing a recovery. Click Here
If the issue still persists after trying out the steps. It is a hardware issue with the PC, please contact HP support for service options. Click Here
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Honest mistake. What you're going to need to do is unplug your fully charged chromebook from any wires, and sign in to Chrome OS. The next few instructions must be followed perfectly or you risk awakening the untamed unicorn herd that has a well documented history of poking so many holes in your system it will never recover.
1. You put your chromebook in.
2. You put your chromebook out.
3. You put your chromebook in,
4. Aaaand you shake it all about.
5. Do the hokie pokie,
6. Turn yourself around
That's what it's all about.
That's about the best touchscreen troubleshooting you'll find. Everyone is told to hard restart and then powerwash back to factory settings. This has worked for 0,000,000 people, yet is the response to every problem. I'll save you the wait from support and just tell you know....it's a hardware issue. It's well known, just like the issue with the hinges falling apart on the x360 models.
