Hello,
I just received an FD0003SF laptop and I have two problems.
The first is that there's a difference between the keyboard and the actual keyboard layout.
I can't find the @ key, for example. Nothing matches!
The keyboard is indeed a French AZERTY layout (standard, France).
Secondly, I can't figure out how to activate the backlit keyboard.
Thank you for your help.

Hi @Nino1905,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
For the challenges you're facing with your FD0003SF laptop, here are some steps and solutions:
Keyboard Layout Issue
If the physical keys on your laptop do not match the layout, it might be due to a software setting. Since you've mentioned that the keyboard is a French AZERTY layout, ensure that your software settings reflect this layout:
Changing Keyboard Layout:
- Go to Settings on your Windows.
- Select Time & Language.
- Click on Language on the left panel.
- Under Preferred languages, check if French (France) is available. If not, add it.
- Make sure to set French (France) as the default input method.
- You can change the keyboard layout to AZERTY by adding it under Options for French.
Finding Special Characters:
- Typically, the @ symbol on an AZERTY keyboard can be typed using Shift + AltGr + 0 or AltGr + 2 keys. Make sure to try these combinations.
Language and Regional Settings:
- Also, ensure that your Language and Regional Settings in Windows are set to France if that is your desired configuration.
Activating Backlit Keyboard
To activate the backlit keyboard on your HP laptop:
Using Keyboard Shortcut:
- Look for a function key on the top of your keyboard, typically with a light or a keyboard icon. This key might be F5, F4, or another key specific to your model.
- Press it while holding the Fn key. For example, Fn + F5, toggles the backlight on and off.
HP Support Software:
- Ensure that your laptop has the latest drivers and support software. You can check HP's Official HP® Support for software updates specific to your model.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
