Envy x360 13-ar0126au
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I just got an Envy x360 13 inch ar0126au (2019 model due to the placement of ports and fingerprint sensor sitting on the deck below the keyboard, not on the keyboard itself). After opening it up and typing, I heard a clicking sound. The clickpad has no buttons and the chassis is solid. When I resumed typing, I found out that the click pad itself had a tactile click of sorts. The whole pad pressed down after applying very small pressure to it. It returned to place like after you cluck a normal mouse button.

Is the clickpad supposed to click down or depress? Is it an actual function? Or did I involuntarily damage my unit?

Welcome to the HP support community.

If the mouse click works when you heard the click while using the touchpad, it would confirm a standard response.

If not, what kind of noise is it, if it is excessive, please share a video of the same.

Cheers.
