Hi:
If your nc6400 has the Intel graphics you manually install the Vista graphics driver as follows...
Download and run the driver. You will most likely get an unsupported operating system error.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp40501-41000/sp40557.exe
Close out of any error windows. Go to the device manager and click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category. Click on the Standard VGA Adapter listed there.
If you do not have such a device, then elsewhere in the device manager, there will be a device labeled as a Video Controller.
Click on either of those that you see.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp40557.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver will install. Then restart the PC.
If your notebook has the AMD graphics adapter, do the same thing as above, but use this driver instead...
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38501-39000/sp38833.exe
You would browse to C:\SWsetup\sp38833.
