HI,
windows 10
suddenly the touchscreen stopped working,
update of bios and latest drivers were unsuccessful.
At UEFI BIOS level, the button "touch screen= isn't visible in the component test
- any ideas what the problem could be?
Thx SG

What caused the problem in the first place?
Power glitch? Upgrade to windows 11?
Microsoft or HP update? Add a new device, memory, etc?
Running the UEFI diagnostics is described on page 66 of service manual.
There is an updated diagnostics package here
https://support.hp.com/us-en/help/hp-pc-hardware-diagnostics
Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS', expand the '+'symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button.
The version of the UEFI diagnostics is shown at that DOWNLOAD button. When you press F2 to run diagnostics please ensure the version is the new one.
If the touchscreen fails during UEFI diagnostics or during BIOS setup then a hardware problem

Thanks for the quick reply, the problem was probably caused by updating.
The current version of the UEFI diagnostic tool is installed (10.3.0.0),
i.e. if the touch screen in "components" is not displayed in the bios,
then this means that the touch function is broken?
hmm, strange
Then I'll probably have to change the display.....
THX

Sorry, I do not have your system and do not know what "components" means on the diagnostics. I looked for bios simulator for your 1012 but did not find one.
If the touchscreen is one of the testable items and it fails then there is a hardware problem. If the touchscreen does not work when going through the bios menus then there is a problem. Did you have to update the UEFI to get the 10.3.0.0?
I will have to defer to our expert @erico for this problem.

Thx again!
I can't test the touch screen, because I can't select these test:
I mean in "hardware diagnostics UEFI" (F2), "Component tests"
and in this menu no selection item "Touchscreen" is available
(all others are selectable,, e.g. keyboard, system board and so on
"hardware diagnostics UEFI" is version 10.3.0.0
