HP Spectre x360 13.5 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ef2000 (771X1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

When I put down the screen to close/lock my computer, it does not close down and keeps running. I don't find wrong with display settings or think it is a setting problem, and I just reset the system and run a diagnose for the sensors, but I still have the same problem. I can't figure out what is happening here, is it a software or hardware problem? Please help me, thank you!

Go into Control Panel and look at the power settings -- there are options regarding what the laptop should do when you close the lid.

Thanks for your suggestion, I just checked it, but for On battery and Plugged in it says "Sleeping" for "When I close the lid".

Sleeping is a form of hibernation so closing the lid does not actually power down the laptop.

If you want it to power down, you have to change those settings to Shutdown.

Thank you WAWood!

I'm sorry for the late reply and miscommunication. I did not want to power down my laptop by closing the lid, I was trying to say that when I close the lid the system still runs (the screen doesn't even lock, like it has not sensed any changes), it is not doing what's in the setting (which is set as sleeping), and that's why I was confused.
