Hi @wyoforlife,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for sharing the details. Since your HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 (2D118AV) is flashing white only on the laptop screen and not on an external display, this likely indicates a hardware issue with the laptop’s display panel, cable, or GPU connection.

Here are the recommended support steps that you can try.

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect all external devices and power.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power adapter and turn it on.

2. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

  • Use the built-in diagnostics to check for display issues:
    • Turn off the laptop.
    • Press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to open the diagnostics menu.
    • Select Component Tests > Display and run the test.

3. Update Graphics Drivers

  • Boot into Safe Mode if the screen is too unstable.
  • Go to Device Manager > Display Adapters.
  • Right-click your graphics driver and choose Update driver.

4. Check for BIOS and Firmware Updates

5. Connect to External Monitor (Already Done)

  • Since the external display works fine, the issue is likely with the laptop screen or internal display cable.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

No, none of this helped resolve the issue. There wasn't anything that appeared in the diagnostics and there were no updates for the drivers available.
