I am using a HP14a-ne0013dx and using it for school. The computer was working fine up until a few days ago the screen would flash and glitch really fast and then it would stop and stay at a white glitch screen.

@Bentley20, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're experiencing a screen glitch issue with your HP14. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue:

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Disconnect all external devices, such as USB drives, printers, and external monitors.
  3. Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
  4. Press and hold the Power button for at least 10 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the AC adapter and turn on the computer.

Step 2: Check for System Updates

  1. Make sure your Chromebook is connected to the internet.
  2. Click on the status area (where your account picture appears) in the bottom right corner.
  3. Click on the Settings (gear icon).
  4. In the Settings menu, click About Chrome OS on the left sidebar.
  5. Click Check for updates.
  6. If updates are available, they will start downloading and installing. Restart your Chromebook if prompted.

Step 3: Check for Hardware Issues

  1. If the screen issue persists, check if it occurs in the Chromebook's recovery mode.

Step 4: Check with external monitor

Connect your unit with an external monitor/television and check if the issue persists on the monitor as well.

So I think it is my screen because when I soft reset (restart tab and power button)  it turns off and I turns on the screen goes green and pink then it goes black and has a thin white part in the middle of the screen. Im not sure how to fix this but we can't buy a new one and I'm in high school and do online school so this is really important to me.

So I think it is my screen display itself because when I'm about to shut the computer the screen goes completely white and it goes black when I shut it. I reopen it and it stays black for about 5 seconds then goes pink and green and it also flashes really fast and get brighter. I don't know how to fix this but I'm in high school and I can't buy a new one I do online school so this is really important.

Hey @Bentley20,

Thank you for your response

Have you tried to connect the unit to an external monitor? check whether the issue continues; if it occurs solely on the unit, you need to substitute the display. You can go to the closest HP-authorized service center.
