EliteBook 850 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to connect the EliteBook 850 G6 to an Apple Thunderbolt Display. I purchased an Apple USB-C to Thunderbolt 2 adapter. Can HP support provide instruction for how to connect these? Thanks, gBear56

Your machine should have following ports

  (1) USB 3.1 Type-C port (with Thunderbolt support)
  (2) USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 charging)
  (1) HDMI 1.4b port (cable sold separately)
  (1) RJ-45 port
  (1) Docking connector
  (1) Headphone/microphone combo
  (1) AC power port

I think your Apple monitor is the following one

         https://www.maccityaustralia.com.au/products/apple-27-thunderbolt-cinema-display-led-monitor

which clearly says

Thunderbolt Display compatibility.

Thunderbolt-enabled Macs, including the current generations of MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, Mac Pro, and iMac are fully compatible with the Apple Thunderbolt Display.

The chance to be compatible with your HP machine is very slim. Very poor specs, it does not say available input ports but I believe it must have Thunderbolt port therefore you can use standard thunderbolt to thunderbolt cable to connect.

Please note: Given they are Thunderbolt ports but each vendor can have different way to implement their hardware. From my experiences, I would never, never buy expensive devices from 2 different vendors and expect they are going to work.

Regards.
