Hi @Sedona17,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with connecting your HP monitor to a Macbook.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.
Please follow the below steps to fix the issue :
1. Check Ports:
- Determine which ports your MacBook Air has (USB-C/Thunderbolt) and what input ports are available on the HP monitor (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.).
2. Get the Right Adapter:
- If your monitor has an HDMI input and your MacBook Air has USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, you’ll need a USB-C to HDMI adapter or a USB-C to HDMI cable.
3. Connect the Monitor:
- Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the monitor and the other end into the adapter (if using one), then connect the adapter to your MacBook Air.
4. Power On:
- Turn on the HP monitor. It should automatically detect the connection.
5. Configure Display Settings:
- Go to System Settings on your MacBook Air.
- Click on Displays. You should see both your MacBook Air display and the HP monitor.
- You can choose to extend the display or mirror it by adjusting the settings here.
6. Adjust Resolution (if needed):
- In the Displays menu, you can also adjust the resolution and refresh rate to match your preferences.
7. Check for Updates:
- Ensure your macOS is up to date by going to System Settings > General > Software Update.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
