I am trying to extend the display on my EliteBook 840 G4 to my other HP laptop (HP EliteBook 840 G1) but I am having trouble connecting them. I should disclose that the first laptop is a work computer and the second is a personal computer that I am just trying to use as a monitor at the moment.
I have tried using the project function of Windows 10 to project and extend one display to the other but I keep getting an error message that the content from my work laptop cannot be projected onto the personal laptop. I have also tried connecting the two laptops via display port adapters for my HDMI cable as both have displayports. When I do this the work laptop does not detect the other display. Any recommendations or suggestions on how to connect the two devices?
