Hi @Anil1395,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Pavilion laptop isn't detecting your Dell monitor, try the following steps:

Check the Connection:

  • Ensure the cable connecting the monitor to the laptop is securely plugged in on both ends.
  • Try using a different cable if you have one available to rule out a cable issue.

Select the Correct Input Source:

  • On your Dell monitor, use the monitor's menu buttons to select the correct input source (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) that matches the cable you're using.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager (right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager).
  • Expand the Display adapters section.
  • Right-click on your graphics card and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Adjust Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Scroll down to Multiple displays and click Detect. This may force your laptop to recognize the external monitor.

Check Display Mode:

  • Press Windows Key + P to open the Project menu.
  • Choose Extend, Duplicate, or Second screen only to see if the monitor is detected.

Restart Both Devices:

  • Restart your laptop and monitor to see if they connect after rebooting.

Check Monitor Power:

  • Ensure the monitor is powered on and properly connected to a power source.

Test with Another Monitor:

  • If possible, connect your laptop to a different monitor or TV to see if it detects the new display. This can help determine if the issue is with the monitor or the laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
