Hi

How do I connect two external monitors to my laptop please? I just bought this laptop and am unable to connect the two external screens (I can only get one screen working).

The screen I can get working is an HDMI to DVI cable.

The screen I cannot get working is a USB Type C to VGA Adapter, and then a VGA to VGA cable.

(Please note that my previous laptop was an ASUS and I had the setup with two external monitors:

one was HDMi to DVI cable

the other was VGA to VGA cable (i.e. the same as above, except without the USB Type C to VGA Adapter)).

If you could please assist I would be most grateful.

Many thanks,

Jonathan

Your USB-C port is for data transfer only:

USB Type-C port Connects a USB device, such as a cell phone, camera, activity tracker, or smartwatch, and provides data transfer. NOTE: Cables and/or adapters (purchased separately) may be required.

Your only way to get a second monitor is with a USB 3.0 port replicator that has video ports on it.

Hi

Thank you for your reply. I have purchased the product you sent me on the link, however that still does not work. It says it cannot detect the second monitor.

Do you know why this is the case please?

Regards and many thanks

Me too. It happened for me when Windows 10 updated. Both monitors wokred fine before the update. Nothing after the update. If I undo the update then both monitors come back. A search for the drivers on the HP site netted 0 results and the manufacturer of the Monitors (Acer) support was useless because it 's not an Acer computer.

I read your issues posted. I am also facing same issue. I bought HP Pavilion 15-cs0053cl  laptop. I am trying to connect to two external monitors to my laptop. Tried with USB-C to HDMI cable and USB-C to HDMI adapter. Still not working. One monitor works with HDMI cable but the other monitor is not been working after trying these cables.

Is that this product worked for you?

Plugable USB 3.0 Dual-Head Graphics and Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (HDMI up to 2560x1440 and DVI / VGA 1920x1200. Supports Windows 10, 8.1, 7, XP)

Please help me. Thanks
