Product: HP Spectre x360 2in1 133 UHD TouchScreen Laptop Intel Core i7 Model:13-AP0023DX
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought a CableCreation USB-C to HDMI converter from Amazon (link here). I connected this to my HP Spectre's Thunderbolt port. Used an HDMI cable to connect to an external monitor. The laptop is not recognizing the external monitor at all. I tried the CableCreation's drivers/software and still no luck.

 

My exact model I have: HP Spectre x360 2in1 133 UHD TouchScreen Laptop Intel Core i7 Model:13-AP0023DX

Hello @jammer0n,

 

If you've already tried both of the laptop's Thunderbolt 3 ports and have verified that both the monitor and HDMI cable are working properly with other devices, I would presume that the USB-C adapter is faulty.

 

Amazon has a lenient exchange/return policy so it should be a relatively straightforward process.

In terms of a product that HP has recommended for use with this product, you have this option:

 

HP Pavilion USB-C™ to HDMI 2.0 Adapter 2PC54AA

 

Third-party adapters should work fine though; I've used lots of them. It just seems like you got a bit unlucky.
