Connecting my laptop to an OLED Tv problem

Ok, I'm having a fair few issues with a new laptop.

The latest is now hooking it up to a 4k OLED screen.

I am using the included USB c to HDMI dongle.

the TV shows an image for 2 seconds then goes blank, the TV does however continue to play the sound.

Any ideas? 

all updates have been done
