GIS HP 840G5 and Ultraslim docking station
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can I connect sequential monitors to my docking station?  I currently have the first monitor (IBM ThinkVision L170P) connected to the docking station  with a VGA cable and working successfully, and am trying to connect another monitor of the same model to the first to extend my display.  I currently have a DVI cable connecting the two.  The first monitor is working properly, however the second monitor is not being detected.

Sounds like you are talking about daisy chain your monitors. No, HDMI and VGA do not support daisy chain monitors. The dock only has VGA port. Machine has HDMI port. You can use 2 monitors using those ports.

I'm using an old USB-A dock for my 840 G5 now with 2 FHD monitors using DVI ports on the dock.

Regards.
