Hi everyone - I have an HP Elitebook x360 1040 G7 Notebook, and am trying to connect it to a Thinkvision M14 portable monitor I was recently gifted. The portable monitor can only be connected using a USB-C connection, and unfortunately, the standard USB-c to USB-c cable is not resulting in the monitor being recognized.
I am wondering if there is any way to get the display connection to work? From looking at my PC's system information - I see the following: "USB Devices: USB 2.0, USB 3.1 Gen 2". It also says that DisplayPort and ThunderBolt are supported.
It appears from looking at the ThinkVision M14 specs that the portable monitor requests Displayport 1.2 altmode - is there any way I can connect these with USB-C display port alt mode adapters? I found this adapter online (https://us.targus.com/products/usb-c-to-displayport-alt-mode-adapter-aca968glx) and it seems promising, but wondering if anyone has any knowledge/experience with this issue before I start paying out for cables that may or may not make a difference.
Thank you in advance!
