HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fd1000 (917T9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I am using an HP 15s FD1099TU laptop equipped with an Intel Ultra 5 125H processor and Intel Arc graphics. I would like to confirm whether this model supports video output through its USB-C port (via a cable or adapter, other than HDMI). My goal is to connect two external monitors in addition to the internal laptop display, for a total of three active screens.

Could you please clarify if the USB-C port on this device supports DisplayPort Alt Mode or any other video output standard that would enable this configuration?

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

Upon checking with the specs of the unit I see the unit houses a USB Type-C® 3.2 Gen 2.0 port; 10 Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.2, HP Sleep and Charge) which is cable of doing the task as you mentioned . You can also try with a HP docking station too .

I hope this helps

Could you please clarify whether I can connect an external display using my laptop’s Type‑C port? If yes, I would appreciate it if you could explain how—whether through a direct cable, an adapter, or another method.

I could tell you one thing that my laptop's model no. Hp 15s FD1099TU.

HI @Rajveer189,

Thanks for your response.

Please note the USB-C port on your laptop does not support video output, That means you can’t use a USB-C to HDMI/VGA/DisplayPort cable or adapter by itself to send video to a monitor.

This is because the USB-C port on this model is data-only it’s good for file transfers and charging accessories, but it doesn’t carry a video signal.

Your laptop does still support external displays through its HDMI port.

I hope this helps.
