Hi, there is a crack on my laptop screen. It is an x360 so has a touch-screen. It's only a couple of months old and I'm so disappointed. I think it is just the surface glass layer because there is no distortion in the picture. However the touch-screen only works in a few places.
Can this kind of problem be fixed? I can't afford very much, the laptop was expensive enough to begin with.
Can anyone find the relevant part number please, I have not been able to find it online.
Many thanks for any help or advice you can give.

That is unfortunate.
In most cases, this type of issue may not be covered by the standard hardware warranty. Having said that, know that regardless of what has happened to others, you might want to contact HP Technical Support to open a case. Explain the problem and ask for help.
Meanwhile, the parts list you seek is in the Service Manual:
Maintenance and Service Guide - Chapter 3, Page 24
Remove and Replace procedure is explained in Chapter 5, Page 61.

Thank you for your response.
I notice at the start of the maintenance and service guide it says which models are covered (page 1).
"HP Pavilion x360 14m Convertible PC (model number 14-cc0xx)
HP Pavilion x360 14m Convertible PC (model number 14m-ba0xx) and HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC (model number 14-ba0xx"
My laptop is 14-ba100 so I would expect this to be "ba1xx" not "ba0xx" - is it still the same part number for the display? They are very expensive and I can't afford to get the wrong one.
Thank you,
Daniel

You are welcome.
I am pretty sure the "100" series is a just a market version of the system available in a different region or from a particluar authorized HP reseller.
Try checking for the part number in the PartSurfer catalog.
Under the results, open "Click here to see the list of HP Products..."
For example, look for part number 924297-001
Pop open the "Click here" list, scroll down and look for your computer model / product
Open PartSurfer
- Select your Country
- Enter your device Product Number , Serial Number, or Part Number in the Quick Search box
- HINT: To see a system-specific list, replace the Product Number with your device Serial Number
- Items accompanied by a tiny box in the Add-to-Cart column are available for purchase
Parts marked as available for purchase might be available from: HP Parts Store
OR
Use your search engine to find the part number at your favorite online store.
