I broke my screen, it hit the corner of a chair and now 1/3 of the screen is black, there is a crack. And I used to be able to use the remaining 2/3 of the screen but now the bottom of the screen is messing up too. It’s a touch screen. Can it be repaired?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
Unfortunately, HP’s standard warranty does not cover accidental damage such as drops, cracks, or liquid spills. Those are only covered if you purchased HP Care Pack with Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) at the time of purchase.
What you can do:
Check if you have ADP coverage
- Go to HP’s warranty check page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty.
- Enter your serial number and product number.
- If you see Accidental Damage Protection listed, then HP will repair/replace your screen under that coverage.
If you have ADP
- Contact HP Support directly: https://support.hp.com/contact.
- Provide proof of purchase (dated September 3rd).
- HP will guide you through shipping the laptop for repair.
If you don’t have ADP
- The repair would be considered out of warranty.
- HP can still replace the screen on chargeable basis and request you can take it to an HP Authorized Service Provider: https://support.hp.com/in-en/help/service-center
Take care and have an amazing day!
