Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!
HP Recommended
HP 14 Laptop PC 14-f2000 (4X5B5AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Been having a problem where there are dim lines going all around the far edges of the screen, completely around the screen top, left, right, everywhere. I'm also noticing faint black shadows at times in some spots. Especially when the brightness is low. Is the screen about to go out? I don't usually keep the brightness very high. Usually at a level less than 5.

As far as the dim lines, this is not the only laptop I have had this happen to. I have an old Toshiba from 2015 that has this issue. Is this normal behavior for these types of screens?

I have done all of the basic troubleshooting. Driver updates. HP Hardware Diagnostics, checking in BIOS, all that. Same results. When I turn the brightness way up it improves a little, but it's still there.

It is very hard to capture images of this. HP Support didn't see it when they had me use a video call on my phone, But in the attached image, it should be seen just below the mouse.
