Pavilion G15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently bought a HP Pavilion G15 laptop with dedicated graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050.

But apparently it is not detected. In Task Manager I see this GPU is always 0%, and I ran a Userbenchmark.com test, which says "could not find any compatible direct3d devices".  The program GeForce Experience also didn't detect the dedicated graphics card.

So far I have tried:

Reboot

Upgrade driver

Roll Back driver

Delete driver and reboot.

Online I came across a solution to update my BIOS,

but I am not sure I want to do that because I know nothing about that.

My current BIOS is: F.08-06/11/2018

Can someone help me please?

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

I see that you are experiencing an issue with the Graphics card is not detecting and I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like a settings or driver issue

Let's try these steps to see if it helps.
Enter the BIOS and make sure the Graphics settings are set to use PCI-e graphics. You can select PCI/iGPU.

Tapping the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen will get you to the startup menu options.

Then select the F10 option to access the BIOS.

Also, If you do your BIOS update, it can fix the issues and double the fastness of system booting time through hardware fixing.

Check here to find the correct BIOS version.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,
