Hey,
I have a big problem with a hp laptop. I have an integrated R7 card and a dedicated radeon 535dx with 4gb. And this one is not working. I tried everything.
Installed the latest drivers from hp and from amd (of course using the cleanup utility in between installations).
All settings are set to performance, however in gpu-z it clearly shows that the dedicated card is not under load. I tried disabling and enabling features such as crossfire or amd dual graphics but it changed nothing. I updated bios etc. In the amd crimson, there is no option to enforce the dedicated card to work. I don't know if it matters but in the task manager my 4gb card is shown to have only 512 mb, however gpu-z detects the 4gb.
Ultimately the effect is that old games(which ran smoothly on my old lenovo with a 2 gb radeon card) are lagging like hell. What the hell HP? Any ideas how to make it work?

@Inczi Welcome to HP Forums!
I have a few steps to help you out:
I must let you know that the dedicated graphics cards are system managed and cannot be changed manually: Click here for details and minor tweaks.
To resolve the issues with the games, here's a video on how to disable the "turbo mode" that causes this issue: Click here
If you aren't able to disable it permanently, use the below steps:
Navigate to this folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static
Find CCC.exe, right click>properties>compatibility tab
Tick the 'run this program as an administrator' option and hit ok.
Do the same thing for MOM.exe
You may have to restart the PC for the changes to take effect, then try disabling overdrive, restart the game to see if it fixes it.
Let me know how that pans out,

Thats the gpu-z for mz dedicated card when I turned on Fallout 4, after I did what you suggested and restarted. So no change. BTW, when I did what you said I had some kind of critical failure and had to make system recovery, then I did it again. Still no change in the video card usage. So the problem is not solved still.

@Inczi Do you mean you've reinstalled windows? when you mentioned - "you had to make system recovery"? if yes, I suggest you run a hardware test on your device to identify any hardware malfunctions:
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
- Click Extensive Test.
- Click Run once, or Loop until error.
- While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.
- If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.
Good luck.

Hey - thanks for the reply, yup I had to reinstal Windows, I got to the part from your instructions where I pressed F2 and the only options I can choose are:
Memory Test
Hard Drive Check
Language
Exit
So which one of those is the System Test? I tried choosing the first two but there were no further options, just some process running with percentage displayed.
Cheers,
Tomasz

@Inczi You may need to update the hardware diagnostic tool before those options are available (since they aren't)
I suggest you click here for instructions, once you've downloaded the updated version, you should be able to find the options you need.

@Inczi if the tests have passed and you've reinstalled the OS, yet the issue persists, I suggest you get yourself a recovery media from HP to reinstall the OS as a fresh copy should resolve OS corruption that could be causing the issue, check this link for details: Click here, if that doesn't work, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options:
follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on "Continue as guest".
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
