Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Press the Start button on the keyboard, type Mouse & Touchpad settings and select the result.
  • From the window click on Additional mouse option. Click on the Device Settings tab and click on the Settings button.
  • From the left side panel, click Zoom option and uncheck the box Enable Pinch Zoom.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi, thanks for your reply but I’ve already explained  that the tick box is missing. I’ve since spoken to pc world who have told me that this is now set as a default that can not be change. Going in to properties there was no settings tab hence him knowing that this option for the consumer to take off certain touch pad settings had been permanently removed -  a bit like new apple products with the same feature. So thank you HP/Windows for taking it upon yourself to decided that this is what everyone wants! Its not! And now I just have to hope that enough people get as annoyed as I am and you decide  to give me the option back in an  update. Ridiculous

I'm having the same problem and it is driving me nuts! Is there a fix to this? There isn't a device tab.

I am having the same problem. I've spent hours trying to find a workaround. It's horrible usability. And unacceptable that any such feature cannot be turned off. Clearly the engineers goofed. Will not be buying another HP.
