I have always used an external mouse with my laptop and up until just a few days ago, have been able to configure the touchpad to be disabled when an external mouse is plugged in. All of a sudden that option is gone. Last night, my husband did something while typing that activated the touchpad and completely reconfigured my desktop. When I went in to the device manager, there no longer seems to be an option to disable the touchpad when an external mouse is plugged in.
I saw in an older post that the suggestion was made to use the Fn key and see if any of the F1-F12 would work. When I tried them, nothing worked, and in fact the one that seemed to help someone else (Fn+F5) completely reloaded my screen.
How do I fix this?
