Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought a brand new Hp-laptop and I am unable to disable touchscreen on the computer. I've tried jumping on device manager > 1."show hidden file"  2.human interface devices, but theres no "touchscreen HID" . Next I went to my settings devices under my touchpad icon which had only one option  -  "change sensitivity".

All my drivers and windows updates are up to dates, but nothing seems to work.

Hi @luxen

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try these steps to disable the touchscreen -

1) In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, then select Device Manager.
2) Select the arrow next to Human Interface Devices and then select HID-compliant touch screen. (There may be more than one listed.)
3) Select the Action tab at the top of the window. Select Disable device or Enable device, and then confirm. If there's more than one HID-compliant touchscreen device listed, perform steps 2–3 for that one too.

Or, you may also try editing the registry to disable the touchscreen -

1) Search for and open regedit

2) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Wisp\Touch

3) Create a new DWORD (32 bit) with the name TouchGate

4) Doubleclik on the newly ceated DWORD and make sure it has the value 0

(0 = touch disabled, 1 = touch enabled)

5) Restart the computer.

Note - Please back-up the registry before making the changes. Refer to this document for steps - HP PCs - Backing Up, Editing, and Restoring the Windows Registry

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
