Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello friends

Recently I had to format and install Windows 10 64bit on this laptop. The Windows version is the latest and updated. The problem is with the display driver. I have tried a number of times to install the Radeon driver for the system. Unfortunately, every time I get an error that "unable to find any Radeon device".

I have tried to install it from the official HP website's laptop specific support page.

I have tried to install it from Radeon official website too.

There is no problem with installing the Intel HD Graphics driver.

I have uninstalled the Intel driver and tried using the Intel/AMD Switchable Driver too, but I received exactly the same error.

Unless I install the Radeon display driver, a number of functionalities like 'casting on Smart TV' are not working.

Please help me with this.

Thank you.

@SRoyC

You said you installed the "latest version" of Windows and that would be version 20H2, build 19042.870 -- and the problem with that is the HP video drivers probably will not work with anything newer than version 20H1.

We're received other complaints like this from folks who forced upgrade to 20H2, and I wish we could tell you WHEN HP is going to update their video drivers for v20H2, but we do not have this information and they will not provide us any schedules for this.

If you are running v20H2, you would probably have to go back to v20H1 to get a working video driver again.

Thank you for your reply.

Please note, I tried first to install the display driver on the older version of windows 10 64bit. As it was giving the same error as could not find Radeon hardware, I thought that upgrade might help. Unfortunately, the situation remained the same.

I can install the Intel driver for now, should I do that? Or should I continue with the MS Generic driver? Please advise...Thank you again.
