Hi, Team HP.

Using Hp products since a while and enjoying Hp services.

Unfortunately this time i'm in trouble, my laptop Hp Envy x360 display driver is outdated and causing me real problem. Display is Intel HD 5500. When i try to open Adobe Photoshop it hangs all the system. I contacted Adobe they analysed and told me that your display driver needs to be updated, but there is no update on Hp website or elsewhere. Please provide an update or at least the solution for this problem.

ALso system is not checking for updates it takes forever to check for updates but nothing happens.

Looking forward for your help.

Hi:

You should be able to manually update the Intel HD 5500 to the latest version Intel has as follows...

1. Create a system restore point so that you can easily go back to the current driver state in case the driver doesn't work for you.

2. Download the W8.1 64 bit ZIP file version of the latest Intel graphics driver from the link below...last one down on the left side of the page.

Version: 15.40.42.5063 (Latest)    Date: 3/19/2019

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28662/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-40-?product=862...

3. Unzip the file to its folder. Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

4. Go to the device manager, click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.

Click on the Intel HD graphics adapter listed there. Click on the driver tab. Click on update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click on Have Disk, and browse to the unzipped graphics driver folder>Graphics>igdlh64 (setup information file), click Next, and the driver should install.

Be patient as it can take a few minutes for the driver to install.

5. When the installation is completed, restart the PC.

You're very welcome.

I believe now that the driver from Intel installed, if you install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (Intel® DSA), it will notify you of an update, and automatically update the graphics driver for you when a new one is released.
