Display Driver failed to start

Pavillion Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My PC was attacked by a virus and I immideately deleted that corrupted file but that virus distructed my Display driver. Now after restart and many othe scans, The notification is showing that " Display Driver has failed to start, using Microsoft Basic Display Driver instead, Check windows update for a newer display driver. " Now, My PC is working too slowly and sometimes goes offscreen . Give me suggestions what to do.

Display Driver failed to start

@Rajan_Bhatia Welcome to HP Community!

  • Please provide the product number for your computer.
  • Have you made any changes to the computer?

In the meantime, please follow the below steps and check.

Uninstall the driver you are using via Programs and Features. Before you reboot go offline (helps prevent WU from

popping in a driver while Windows is rebooting).

Reboot and install the new driver.
