Hi @SamratKapoor,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the BIOS update might have reset some settings or caused a compatibility issue with the display orientation. Here’s how you can fix this problem.
Change the Display Orientation:
Manually correct the display orientation:
Windows:
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down to the Display orientation drop-down menu.
- Select Landscape and click Apply.
If the display orientation changes every time you reboot, proceed with the next steps.
Update or Reinstall Display Drivers:
Update the drivers:
- Open Device Manager (Press Win + X and select Device Manager).
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click your display adapter (e.g., Intel UHD Graphics or AMD Radeon) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Reinstall the drivers:
- Right-click the display adapter and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your system. Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.
Reset the BIOS Settings:
If the BIOS update changed settings related to display:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup (Esc, F10, or another key specific to your system).
- Look for an option to Restore Defaults or Reset to Factory Settings.
- Save and exit the BIOS.
Run Windows Troubleshooter:
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Go to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Run the Display or Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

Check Startup Apps and Scripts:
If a program or script is causing the change:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Go to the Startup tab and disable any apps you suspect might alter display settings.
Reapply the BIOS Update:
If the problem persists:
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest BIOS update for your model.
- Reinstall it, ensuring there are no interruptions during the process.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
