HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d4000 (4C802AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Have had my HP PC 15 d4000 for 14 months.  I went to turn it on last night and the screen was black.  I could hear the power.  I could hear the fan, and I could hear the hp  or maybe it's the computer chime usually showing the screen for me to log in.

I tried  shutting down and using F8.  I got the black screen and then I could see the HP logo, between vertical and horizontal lines on the screen.  I wanted to restart on safetly mode (which never happened). At one point I saw my image. Then it disappeared.  Another time I saw the blue screen (but it was in back of the vertical and horizontal lines on the screen) and was able to try to get into the advanced button,  but it never did happen.  Screen just goes back to black.

I then went on support HP site and watched the Hard start for a machine with no battery showing that I could remove.  I followed the instructions.  I still see the black screen, hear things happening (fan, etc.) and those chimes go off   ding/ding.

Of course, I haven't backed up my computer in six months.  I'd like to NOT loose the files I have on it now.   I am currently using a very old laptop to see if I can get assistance from this forum.

Thoughts or Ideas on how I can get the display to behave?  and NOT loose all my work?
