I had a second external monitor working over USB-C port on my Elitebook for the last 2+ years,
After a Firmware Upgrade this week, it stopped working.
The USB-C Port can charge. The Monitor works directly with an HDMI cable.
But connecting the monitor with HDMI to a USBC stopped working,
The second Monitor is not recognized anywhere anymore.
Please advise ASAP

I had exactly the same issue with my HP EliteBook 855 G7 AMD chipset. Today morning my BIOS was updated, and my second monitor is not recognized. I am using a USB-c adapter with Display ports to connect my second monitor, but unfortunately, after the updates, nothing is working. Next, I tried to download drivers for the chipset directly from AMD without success. Finally, I installed all the drivers for the model from HP support site - nothing is working.
Can someone help with this issue?

I fixed the issue by doing the following:
1 - Shut down the notebook
2 - Press and HOLD the power button down for 30 seconds
3 - Start the notebook up again
I had to set up how the screens work, with Display Settings again, but the USB-C was working fine with the screens
Happy Days after a month of frustration.............
