Hi @Farhan441,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A green screen issue on your HP Laptop PC 15s, especially following an unexpected shutdown, can be caused by several factors including hardware failure, a graphics driver issue, or software corruption. Here's how you can troubleshoot the problem.
Hard Reset the Laptop
- Disconnect any peripherals (external devices).
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain all power.
- Reconnect the power supply and turn the laptop on again.
Boot in Safe Mode
- Force shutdown the laptop by holding the power button for 10 seconds.
- Turn it on and as soon as the HP logo appears, press F8 (or Shift+F8) multiple times.
- If you get into Safe Mode, this will load the basic drivers. If the screen is normal, it may be a graphics driver issue.
- Update or roll back the graphics driver in Device Manager.
Check for Overheating
- Ensure that your laptop is not overheating, as this can cause shutdowns and display issues.
- Clean the vents and make sure the fan is working properly.
Test External Display
- If you have an external monitor, connect your laptop to it.
- Press Windows + P and select Duplicate or Second screen only to see if the external display works properly. If the external display works, the laptop screen might be damaged.
Update BIOS and Graphics Drivers
- If you can boot into Safe Mode or through an external display, update your BIOS and graphics drivers by visiting the HP Support website.
Check for Hardware Issues
- A sudden shutdown might indicate a hardware failure, such as the GPU, RAM, or even the motherboard.
- Run HP's Hardware Diagnostics by pressing Esc during startup, then select F2 for diagnostics.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
