Hello
I have just bought a new Pavillion with Win 11 and 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate;
I have a G5 docking staion with two monitors. They work perfectly fine with my work laptop and 5 year older HP pavilion.
When I connect the docking station i get "Display connection might be limited" and it seems like the USB is simply not good enough.
I find this to be weird, since my older it works on a 5 year older (very similar) model.
Monitor works fine with direct HDMI. HDMI to Dock does not work.
The dock is recognised as is keyboard/mouse dongle in dock and ethernet connection.
I've tried updating all drivers and update everything in windows.
Am I missing something? - any chance to get it to work or do I have to return to laptop
And if so, how can I be sure any other laptop I buy will work

You say it has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate. That means it does not support Alt mode nor Power Delivery therefore you can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use
Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable
Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
For more connectivity, please use
True Universal Docking Stations
Regards.

Thank you very much for the quick reply - I guess I need to buy a different one
Sorry if I'm now being paranoid - Can anyone confirm, that if a Type-C USB3.2 Gen2 "that support DisplayPort and G-sync" will work with monitors through G5 dock
