A lot of information is not displayed for online pages. Checkboxes refuse to respond, text is missing. The best example would be using the HP Support Assistant. From the 'Home Page';  if I select 'Optimize your performance', a dialog box comes up with some lines on it, but no text .

When browsing online some elements are grayed out that should be useable. I have checked the settings for scale and resolution. They are scale at 125% (Recommended) and the resoluition is at 1920 x 1200 (Recommeded).

Hi @VernL1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I'm sorry to hear that you have troubleshoot issues with the HP Support Assistant. If you're experiencing problems with online pages not displaying correctly or checkboxes not responding, I would request you to please follow the steps:

Graphics Driver Update

  • Missing text or grayed-out UI elements often point to GPU driver issues.
  • Go to Device Manager → Display adapters.
  • Update your graphics driver (Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA) from the manufacturer’s site.

Windows Display Settings

  • You already checked resolution (1920 × 1200) and scaling (125%).
  • Try temporarily setting scaling to 100% to see if text reappears.
  • If it works, adjust scaling back up gradually (110–125%) to find a stable setting.

Check Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings → Windows Update and install all pending updates.
  • Some UI rendering bugs are patched in cumulative updates.

Run System File Checker

  • Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run:
  • Code
  • sfc /scannow
  • This repairs corrupted system files that may affect UI rendering.

Take care and have an amazing day!
