HP Laptop 15-db0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

From past 1 month my laptop didn't work properly, because of display driver failure.whenever I open an application after some time it automatically closed and screen goes black or screen is zoom in by 150 or 170%.              After it happens it shows notification like "Display driver failed to start; using Microsoft Basic Display Driver instead. Check Windows update for newer display driver." I updated Windows and Display driver twice but it didn't fix the problem. So please tell me what to do now.Here is laptop details,Product no. - 5KV06PA#ACJSerial no. - [edited]

@Chhatrapalsingh Welcome to HP Community!

I suggest you follow the below steps to resolve this issue:

  1. Exit all Windows based programs.
  2. Select Start, type regedit in the Search box, and then double-click regedit.exe from the results above. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. Locate to the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
  4. On the Edit menu, select New, and then select the following registry value from the drop-down menu specific to your version of Windows (32 bit, or 64 bit):
  5. Select QWORD (32 or 64-bit) value.
  6. Type TdrDelay as the Name and then select Enter.
  7. Double-click TdrDelay and add 8 for the Value data and then select OK.
  8. Close Registry Editor and then restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
