I recently did a full hard wipe and reset of my laptop and have reinstalled Windows 10.
I tried to connect a separate monitor and have found the HDMI port is not working. On further investigation it appears as if the system is using "Microsoft Basic Display Driver" instead of the installed AMD hardware.
When I check on the DirectX DIagnostic Tool, it reports: "There is a problem with AMD Radeon HD 8600/8700M device. For more information, search for “graphics device driver error code 43”
I have tried the following, all to no avail:
- Through device manager, update the driver
- Through device manager, uninstall the driver, scan for new hardware and reinstall
- Download AMD auto support software and install required updates
- Using third party driver update tool to scan and update
What else can I do? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

Hi:
What is the product number of your notebook?
Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number.
