Hi @Keiro--001,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding display of your laptop!

Since the display glitch appears even in the BIOS, the issue is likely hardware-related, such as a failing GPU, loose display cable, or faulty panel. However, try these steps to rule out software issues:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Shut down the laptop.
  2. Disconnect all external devices (USBs, HDMI, etc.).
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Turn the laptop back on and check if the glitch persists.

2. Check BIOS for Corruption

Since the glitch appears in BIOS, resetting it might help:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  3. Press F9 to load Default Settings, then F10 to Save & Exit.

If the issue persists, move to the next step.

3. Test in External Monitor

  1. Connect your laptop to an external monitor/TV via HDMI.
  2. If the external display also has glitches, it's likely a GPU issue.
  3. If the external display works fine, the issue might be with the laptop screen or display cable.

4. Perform a Graphics Driver Reinstallation (Safe Mode)

Since the glitch remains after boot, try reinstalling drivers in Safe Mode:

  1. Restart your PC and press F8/F11 repeatedly until the Advanced Startup menu appears.
  2. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  3. Select Safe Mode with Networking.
  4. Open Device Manager (Windows + X → Device Manager).
  5. Expand Display Adapters, right-click your GPU (NVIDIA/AMD) → Select Uninstall device.
  6. Check Delete the driver software for this device, then Uninstall.
  7. Restart your laptop and let Windows install default drivers.

If this does not fix it, move to the next step.

5. Check for Hardware Issues

If the glitch persists even after reinstalling drivers, the issue might be hardware-related:

  • Faulty GPU: If the external monitor also shows glitches, it could be a GPU failure.
  • Loose Display Cable: If only the laptop screen has glitches, the internal display cable might be loose or damaged.
  • Defective Screen: A faulty screen may cause flickering or lines.
